Chief Executive Officer of Retail Trade Association of Kenya Pays Courtesy Call on Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka
Ms. Wambui Mbarire, Chief Executive Officer of Retail Trade Association of Kenya paid a courtesy call on the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ms. Ruvini De Silva, at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi.
The discussions primarily focused on Sri Lanka Expo 2027, Sri Lanka’s flagship international trade exhibition, scheduled to be held from 14–17 January 2027 in Colombo. The Acting High Commissioner briefed Ms. Mbarire on the objectives of the Expo, including showcasing Sri Lanka’s export capabilities, facilitating international business partnerships, and promoting trade and investment opportunities across key sectors.
The Acting High Commissioner also highlighted the two Sri Lanka Expo 2027 Business Briefing Sessions to be hosted by the High Commission in Nairobi on 25 September 2026 and in Mombasa on 2 October 2026. Ms. Mbarire was briefed on the significance of these sessions as platforms for Kenyan stakeholders to engage with Sri Lankan exporters, investors and industry representatives, while exploring potential business linkages, B2B partnerships and investment opportunities.
Ms. Mbarire welcomed the information shared on Sri Lanka Expo 2027 and the upcoming briefing sessions, noting the potential for increased engagement between Kenyan and Sri Lankan stakeholders. The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening private sector connections and creating opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The meeting also explored avenues for further enhancing economic and commercial relations between Sri Lanka and Kenya through greater stakeholder engagement, business networking and participation in international trade and investment platforms.
